Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that many people experience during specific times of the year. Practicing opposite action can be supportive in helping you get through these tough times.
Eat root vegetables. They are grounding and are great comfort food. Potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, parsnips, beets and turnip.
When you don’t feel like getting up let alone exercising start small with stretching.
When you don’t feel like talking to anyone connect with someone in your community. Send a text message or make plans to meet someone. Try your best to follow through on these meet ups/plans.
Get outside. Even 5 mins of sunshine can help boost your mood.
Most of all be kind to yourself. If you don’t have the capacity, don’t do all of these in the same day.
